Earthenware ceramic. Glazed and pit-fired.
Like jesters in the courtroom, these two common garden gnomes are bearers of our private fears and fortifications. One white, one black, one kiln-fired, one pit-fired, the two figures face each other without touching. Their grasping of a revolver and a teddy bear, respectively, can be seen as projections of the socio-political tensions that have become commonplace in this country. What seems at first glance amusing, swiftly translates into a solemn imperative.
