The Drexciya video and the plant installation are two projects that deal with the meaning of knowledge. In Drexciya we can enter a hidden place underwater, we can think of this black society as maroon people living in a free place. This society has built an organic and spiritual place where human life is maintained in connection with other marine beings. The plant installation is a place where healers heal patients, it is the “in-between” place where knowledge about medicinal plants speaks with knowledge about ceremonial and funeral songs. These two projects could invite us to have a conversation in many languages at the triennial, they could invite us to listen to other songs, voices and “secrets” of the maroon people.
