Stellenbosch Triennale Exhibitions Temporarily Closed

Due to the threat of the spread of COVID-19 and for the protection of citizens and visitors to the Stellenbosch Triennale, the trustees and curators have taken the decision, until further notice, to close all of the Stellenbosch Triennale exhibitions and associated events.

These include:

  • The Curator’s Exhibition – The Woodmill Lifestyle Centre – Vredenburg Road Devon Valley, Stellenbosch

  • On the Cusp – Libertas Parva (Little Libertas), 25-33 Dorp Street, Stellenbosch

  • From the Vault – Stellenbosch University Museum – 52 Ryneveld Street, Stellenbosch

  • Concepts of Freedom – no film viewings will take place at any of the locations in Pniel, Kayamandi or central Stellenbosch

  • African AD: Analog + Digital Music Festivals

  • Creative Dialogues Talks Programme

  • The Imaginarium – whilst school tours have been cancelled, the online facility is still available

Khanyisile Mbongwa, Chief Curator of the Stellenbosch Triennale notes, “in the wake of the pandemic, we have to take moments of deep reflection at this delicate and fragile time in our lives. The next few weeks will be crucial in how we imagine and manifest our survival through the sharing of resources and knowledge. It is at this moment we ought to practise radical love and compassion in recognizing everyone’s humanity and the sanctity of all life.”
